I had the best time shooting this fine evening with this family… and Karl the Fog. The thing with planning sessions around San Francisco and Sausalito is that the weather forecast can tell you one thing… but you can arrive at something completely opposite of what it tells you. I constantly check the forecast on the day of the session to see if I need to update my clients on meeting earlier (in the event that there’s a strong chance of overcast or partly cloudy skies). In this case, I arrived to Karl the Fog when the forecast had shown sunny weather…
I typically start 30-45 minutes earlier to beat the heavy, dark cloudy skies when there’s either light fog or thick overcast. I had arrived super early to the session (as always because SF traffic can be so unpredictable) and to my surprise, Alyssa and her family had just pulled up as well! I immediately told them that now was the best time to begin the session because the fog was rolling in pretty quickly. It was chilly but not windy, and we got to enjoy this quiet little nook all to ourselves!
Sweet little Zoey enjoyed her little snack break mid session with some bào zi (the same ones that my daughters love to eat) and she nommed away. I was surprised at how comfortable and happy she was during the session because of how chilly it was. Oh, I forgot to mention Alyssa found me when I photographed her cousins (Katrina and AJ on my blog!) engagement photos and she said she was fully set on booking me to photograph their first family photos!! It makes my heart melt every time they tell me they’ve chosen me to document the sweetest fleeting moments of their lives and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. Ugh, I had the BEST time with these amazing people and cannot wait to work with them again!!
” Lynna went above and beyond, to say the least! From the moment I contacted her to the day she returned the photos, she remained extremely responsive, personable, and knowledgeable!
Lynna makes a great effort to ensure the day of the shoot is as perfect as possible, including offering wardrobe, props, and suggesting breathtaking locations!
On the day of our shoot, we arrived about 30 minutes early and to our surprise Lynna was already waiting for us. We were extremely thankful because, on this particular day, Karl the Fog decided to join us earlier than expected which did not deter her at all! She knew exactly how to position us to capture the dreamiest of shots.
Her warm demeanor helped us get comfortable in front of the camera, and the pictures really show it! We are simply in awe of the beautiful photos she produced! I am so very glad we booked with Lynna and I would suggest her to any of my family and friends, hands down!” – Alyssa
