As a San Jose family photographer, I pour so much of my heart into every single session — from the moment we start planning outfits and picking the location, to the actual shoot where we’re chasing golden light, capturing giggles, calming toddlers, and guiding you into those little in-between moments that make photos feel so real and alive.
And then comes the editing — where I spend countless hours making sure every image reflects the magic I saw in that moment. It’s deeply personal work, and it means everything to me when clients not only love their photos but want to support me beyond the session itself.
I get asked all the time: “What’s the best way I can support you after our session?”
The truth? There are so many small but powerful ways to lift up your photographer that cost absolutely nothing — and every one of them matters. Whether it’s spreading the word, sharing our posts, or just taking a moment to say thank you, these little things keep our small businesses alive and thriving.
Here are some heartfelt ways you can show your support as a client — whether we’ve already worked together or you’re planning to book in the future.
This one is huge. Reviews are the lifeline of small businesses, and when someone is searching for a San Jose family photographer, they’re not just looking at photos — they’re reading through experiences.
A genuine review gives future clients a glimpse into what it felt like to work with us. You don’t have to write anything fancy or perfect — just be honest and heartfelt. Talk about what stood out to you. Maybe it was how I made your shy little one laugh, or how you felt completely at ease during your maternity session, or even how special it was to see your final gallery. Those details make all the difference.
When you take a few minutes to leave a review on Google, Yelp, or even send us a message we can share, it builds trust with new clients and helps guide them toward choosing a photographer that feels right for them. Your words really do matter — more than you know.
Truly, word of mouth is one of the strongest and most impactful ways to support your photographer. When you tell someone about your experience — whether it’s your sister-in-law, your best friend, a coworker, or another mom in your circle — you’re giving them something more valuable than a pretty Instagram photo.
You’re giving them trust. When someone hears firsthand that you had a great experience, that you felt seen and celebrated, that the photos captured your family perfectly — that recommendation sticks. It’s personal, it’s heartfelt, and it often leads to new clients who are excited and ready to work with someone you vouched for.
So please, tell your people! Those little conversations — in passing, at playdates, over text — are how we grow.
If you’re posting the photos we took together (and I hope you are, because I love seeing them out in the world!), please tag us in your posts. It seems like a small thing, but it makes such a big difference.
Tagging gives credit where credit is due, but it also allows your friends and followers to find our work. It’s one of the most natural, authentic ways for people to discover our photography — and maybe even picture themselves in your shoes.
Plus, let’s be real — we love cheering you on! If you tag me, I get to share your post too, celebrate your beautiful family, and maybe even relive a moment from our time together that made me smile all over again.
This one comes from such a loving place — and I promise it’s not about being picky. I spend hours editing every single image with care and intention. Every color tone, every shadow, every warm hue is crafted to reflect the look and feel of my photography style. It’s part of what makes my work recognizable and unique.
When a filter is added — even something subtle on Instagram stories — it can unintentionally change the entire vibe of the image. Skin tones might shift, colors may distort, and what you’re sharing no longer reflects the time, love, and vision that went into creating your gallery.
If you ever want something adjusted, like brightness or crop — just ask! I’m always here to help. But preserving the look of the photos as delivered is such a simple yet powerful way to honor the work we created together.
Whenever you see us post a sneak peek from your session or feature one of your images on our Instagram or Facebook, sharing it is one of the most supportive things you can do.
Reposting to your stories, hitting “share” on Facebook, or even sending it to a friend in a message helps spread our work further than you’d think. Social media can be tricky — algorithms change constantly — but your repost could be the reason someone new finds our page and falls in love with what we do.
You never know who’s looking for a San Jose family photographer — and when they see your beautiful face pop up in our feed, it might be the exact nudge they need to reach out.
This might sound small, but it genuinely helps more than you think. Every like, every emoji, every “omg I love this” in the comments helps boost visibility on our posts. It tells social platforms, “Hey, people are loving this!” — and helps us reach more people naturally.
Even more than that? It gives us joy. Seeing your name pop up in the comments reminds us that you’re still part of our community, that our work continues to resonate, and that you’re cheering us on.
So if a photo makes you smile, if you see your gallery posted, or even if it’s just a cute baby in our feed that gives you heart eyes — don’t be shy. Drop a comment. We’re always reading, always grateful.
This one might be the simplest… but it’s also the most heartfelt.
A quick message saying “thank you,” a note after receiving your gallery, a warm text that tells us you’re in tears (in the best way) — those words fill our cup. We’re not in this just to deliver photos. We’re in it because we care — deeply — about capturing moments that matter. So when you tell us we made you feel beautiful, that your kids had fun, or that you’ll treasure your photos forever… that’s what stays with us.
Never underestimate how far a simple thank you goes. It’s not required, but wow, it means the world.
Whether we’ve worked together already or you’re just starting your journey with us, please know how much I appreciate every form of support — big or small.
These gestures — writing a review, telling a friend, tagging, commenting, sharing — they add up in the most beautiful way. They keep our calendars full, our passion fueled, and our hearts full of gratitude.
So thank you. Thank you for showing up, for trusting me, and for supporting me in all the ways that make this work feel as meaningful as it is. Being your San Jose family photographer is a gift — and I’m lucky every time I get to hold that camera for you.
With so much love and appreciation,
